We provided support for the preparation of education guidelines for physical education at middle schools for the purpose of establishing a physical education curriculum for middle schools in Cambodia.

The guidelines that were created were certified by the Cambodia Education, Youth and Sport Minister in December 2016 and completed. Under the new guidelines, middle school students throughout Cambodia have the same content and base for their physical education including pedagogical elements such as attitude, knowledge, skills, and cooperation, and this will play an important role in student development.

Feedback from Local Contacts :

I am thankful that the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and Hearts of Gold collaborated to create the guidelines for teaching Cambodian physical education courses as a Sport for Tomorrow project. Physical education is an important piece of the five elements of education in Cambodia: labor service education, hygiene education, knowledge education, moral education, and physical education. It will contribute to future national development. I sincerely hope that all stakeholders will continue to cooperate for further development of Cambodia and Japan. (From the ceremonial speech of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron)
