Aiming to convey joy and emotion to kids in Nepal on the road to recovery from the earthquake disaster by harnessing the power of sports, we conducted sports classrooms in football, baseball and volleyball. Leveraging our experience in Japan of the Great East Japan earthquake, contents to raise awareness of disaster risk management were also incorporated into the program.

Dividing into three events and four teams, we visited schools in and around Kathmandu (targeting 17 schools and 16 sites) and by holding the sports classrooms, put children on the road to recovery from the earthquake disaster through exposure to sports. During the triple-event, hosted on 4 and 6 February arranging several events helped pave the way to discover new possibilities and interests.

Feedback from Participant :

The sports event was great fun. What was precious was the chance to enjoy sports we had never experienced before.
