The Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) conducted the program for 10 days from 30 April (Sat.) to 9 May (Mon.), 2016; inviting three coaches and two athletes from the Association of Athletics Federations with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the program, the participants visited the Ajinomoto National Training Center and Tsukuba University to learn state-of-the-art Japanese training and participated in the 200m in the Shizuoka International Track Meet held on 3 May and the javelin at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix Kawasaki 2016 held on 8 May. A visit to the Secretariat of the Federation was also conducted to discuss with the Secretary-General, Department Manager and Section Manager and meaningfully exchanged opinions on the future challenges facing the Paraguay Association of Athletics Federation and its partnership with Japan.

Feedback from Participant :

Athlete:“I was very nervous surrounded only by Olympic athletes. However, I am sure that this experience will be invaluable to my future performance. I definitely want to take part in the Tokyo Olympics.”
Coach: “I am very much obliged to you for setting up this very meaningful project, which, as well as participation in international tournaments, also features visits to the university and company. I want to implement classes for instructors throughout Paraguay based on what I learned this time.”
